Fascinating, dynamic cloud formations moved through the other day and I managed to capture a few neat moments including this. For a time it appeared that mammatus clouds were developing but conditions changed several times over in subsequent minutes, resulting in a number of lovely textures.

Thanks for the compliments, all. This was a situation where I wish I'd been able to go even wider, the sky was really amazing. Had I been better-prepared, I'd have assembled a mosaic from numerous exposures. The silhouetted tree offers less sense of scale than I'd hoped, but I'm pleased overall.
