I was wondering looking at your EXIF data, how could you have got this at 50mm until I read the descritpion.

If only 50mm would resolve such detail on the lunar surface... I could save a ton on optics. :-)

Ana, this formula might be of assistance if you'd like to attempt some afocal shots through a telescope. Your results will inevitably vary based upon the equipment used, but it's certainly a handy guide for gauging shutter speed. The Moon is the easiest target for afocal astrophotography, but capturing quality images via this method is most challenging.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. :-) There will certainly be more to come -- the Moon is one of my favorite targets.
